It’s as Simple as ABG
Welcome to DAY FOUR of our five-part reading plan to help you discover ancient habits for modern living that will transform your life. This is achieved when we develop simple routines and habits to allow us to be fully optimised in all four quadrants of our lives.
So far we have learned that creating transformative habits are as simple as ABG.
Always Be Going (the extra mile)
Always Be Growing
Always Be Grateful
And today….Always be Generous
Proverbs 11:24 The world of the generous gets larger and larger;
the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.
25 The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed;
those who help others are helped.
It is true to say that we live in a time when connections can happen all over the planet, easier than ever before. Even though this is true, there are still people who live their lives in ‘Smallville’, people who have never been outside their town or city. This can also be true of our thinking, we can live in a small way because we choose to be stingy instead of generous.
Like the last three areas we have looked at, generosity is also a habit that we have to develop in our lives. Most of us are wired with the idea of living for ourselves and not for others, so to be generous means a change of heart and a change of mind. Here are five ways in which always being generous improves our lives.
Your world will get larger
You will demonstrate God’s love
Makes you richer
Makes you happier
Helps you to build God’s house
We can be generous with our time, talent and treasures.
On a scale of 1-10, one being stingy and ten being generous, where do you sit on the scale?
What one thing can you do to move you from Smallville to living an expansive life?
God, thank you for the example that You have shown us of giving the best that You have, Your very own son. Help me to always be generous with time, talent and my treasures.
